Chabad in Israel is committed to bringing to the people of Israel – from one end of the country to the other, from all walks of life – the tools, resources and information to enable them to celebrate and appreciate the light, beauty, happiness and meaning of the Jewish Holidays, the High Holidays, Sukkot, Simchat Torah, Chanukah, Purim, Pesach, and Lag B’Omer.

IsraelHomeFront supports the programs run by Chabad in Israel. Working through the 230 Chabad Houses all across Israel, and a large corps of dedicated volunteers, Chabad in Israel fans out across the country in advance of each of the holidays, bringing everything needed to celebrate each with joy and meaning. The groups served by Chabad in Israel are:

  • Israel Defense Forces soldiers bravely defending the Jewish homeland.

  • Police stations, ambulance centers, and security personnel protecting Israel.

  • Victims of terror and their families as they struggle to regain their lives.

  • The sick in hospitals.

  • The elderly who are alone in the world.

  • The families of soldiers lost in the defense of Israel.

  • Jewish prisoners and their guards.

January 2009 – for three weeks Israel and her people rallied in defense of the Jewish homeland, against the ferocious assault of rockets that have pounded southern Israel for years on end, Tzeirei Chabad of Israel initiated a highly intensified program to reach out to our soldiers and civilians alike during this dangerous time.

Using our network of 230 Chabad Houses throughout Israel, we dispatched Shluchim and volunteers to the front lines to bring comfort and hope to the soldiers protecting Israel in the Gaza War. We did everything possible to help keep up their morale as they faced the fears and challenges of warfare, bringing them food and care packages and letters sent from people around the world.

We let them know how deeply their courage and bravery are appreciated and applauded by Israelis and Jews everywhere in the world. We made certain that they knew they had our prayers, our encouragement, and our profound gratitude behind them.

We fanned out across Israel to also help those directly in the range of the Kassam rockets. On the first day of the army's campaign in Gaza, over 50 rockets rained down on southern Israel, killing a resident of Sderot and critically injuring another person when a synagogue took a direct hit.  Chabad representatives are with the families of both and we will stay with them, and all who are in need of our assistance, for as long as they need us.

As Israel and her people faced this latest challenge, Chabad in Israel was there – and will continue to be there -- to bring physical and spiritual strength to people all across the country – to soldiers, to their families, to those in the range of the rockets, to all Israelis.

Because we are located everywhere in Israel, we are able to respond immediately to crisis situations as they arise. We are able to mobilize a large corps of shluchim and volunteers at any time to come to the aid of the people of Israel.

IsraelHomeFront provides funding to Chabad in Israel to carry out the services described above. While IsraelHomeFront utilizes the services of Chabad in Israel, IsraelHomeFront reserves the right to make the final determination concerning funding to Chabad in Israel or any other organization at its discretion.
